“Brooks Weitzman and Classic Construction Company built us a beautiful office space out of a plywood and dirt storage area under our house. The storage area had only exterior access, and Brooks worked with the designer and engineer not only to build the new room but to figure out how to provide inside access – we were dubious, but it worked out really well. The new stairwell looks like it was always there, and we didn’t lose our laundry area!
The project went remarkably smoothly. Brooks coordinated the excavation and concrete pumping flawlessly—the plumbers and electrician were top notch as well. Brooks handled all the City inspections, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. The Classic crew are hardworking and talented (and politically correct!—a must in Berkeley!). As an aside, we had a windstorm during construction, and a nearby PG&E transformer blew, taking out appliances throughout the neighborhood. Our tankless water heater stopped working – we thought it was a goner and that we would never have hot showers again (and we had company!!!), but Brooks got on the phone with the rep, figured out the problem, ordered us the right part, and installed it.
